Maximized Living, Round 2 (part 1 of 3)

Today, I received one of the coolest comments.  It’s the entire script leaked by a former Maximized Living doctor who turned against them and released the proprietary scripts they furnish their franchisees (the doctors).

Unfortunately, I can’t post it, because the last blogger who did immediately (and unfortunately) got his entire blog yanked out from under him in the midst of a lawsuit launched by none other than Maximized Living themselves.

Credit card conundrum – to accept or not to accept?

A colleague of mine posed the question, “what are some alternative options in regards to processing credit card payments?  Most of my patients pay with credit cards and I’m trying to minimize costs.”

I can absolutely empathize.  In fact, I was asking the same question a little over a year ago.  As a former Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) with a private practice based out of a home studio, my clients didn’t expect me to be set up to accept credit cards and they were happy to pay by cash or check.

And I enjoyed the the simplicity and reduced overhead of not having to deal with Visa or Mastercard.  No contracts, no reports, no percentages, no hidden fees, no terminals, no chargebacks, no nothing.  It was lovely.  But…

First-year learning curve – Part 1

When I first started this blog I promised that it would speak to multiple audiences (including current and prospective chiropractic students, new and seasoned practicing docs, other healthcare practitioners, and the general public), and discuss multiple topics.  While I’ve covered some quite well (and much, much more to come, since this is my safe little anonymous sounding board and semi-soap box), I’ve neglected to pay attention to the other part (not quite half) of this blog’s intended purpose: to document our successes and lessons learned and our progress as we make it.  So here goes.

Maximized Living cult/scam? The view from a patient’s perspective

A friend and fellow healthcare practitioner walked in to the office this week to get adjusted, and asked us if we knew Dr. [First name] [Last name], who opened up a Maximized Living practice in a nearby neighborhood.  We mentioned that we vaguely knew him, and our neighbor said she had gone to their clinic to see what they were like so that she would know which of her clientele to refer to them.  She shared her experience with us.

She was not impressed.

Dr. Brandon Credeur’s Response to Denver’s Channel 7 Witch-Hunt

There are always two sides to every story.  Sometimes the events go down exactly as the prosecution describes; other times there is an inaccurate, sensationalist, and almost deliberately misleading account of twisted facts and comments taken out of context.

In case you couldn’t tell already, what happened to Dr. Credeur definitely falls into the latter.  He was nothing but honest in his interviews (which he was in no way required to respond to) and he cooperated fully.  And in fact, his office wrote an intelligent, professional, factual letter in response to the story.  Here it is…
